2011 Results

Provide secondary and post-secondary scholarships based on need and ability, to persons of Aboriginal descent who are pursuing post-secondary studies in fields that will help meet the specific needs of First Nations, Inuit, or Métis peoples and communities.

USF Scholarship Program (Secondary)

Nathan Whonnock

Continuation of Learning Award
Britannia Secondary School

Mr. Whonnock is last year's award recipient for the USF Secondary Scholarship Program. Nathan attributes his ability to continue his education to USF.

"I completed a Trades Discovery program at BCIT and I don't think I would have been able to do it without the support of USF. I really appreciate that support."

Nathan aims to the take the BCIT Carpentry Level 1 program this fall. Mr. Whonnock is from the Namgis Nation in Alert Bay, and raised in Vancouver.

Robert Holler

USF Male Bursary Award
Native Education College

Mr. Holler is last year's award recipient for the USF Post-secondary Scholarship Program.

Mr. Holler is a graduate of the Aboriginal Adult Basic Education program at Native Education College, where he has just completed his 2nd semester in Aboriginal Tourism program.

Mr. Holler is from the Anishinabe Nation in Spanish River, Ontario.
