Welcome from the President

susan tatoosh

Our first year of active community investment has been a wonderful achievement thanks to the leadership of a truly visionary and deeply committed Board of Directors, the experience of staff and advisors and of course the generosity of our contributors who have made our first steps possible.

While much of our activity this year has been focused on building a solid framework on which to grow, we successfully launched the first of our program initiatives – Urban Spirit Foundation Scholarships. We're especially proud of the accomplishments of our scholarship award recipients and the relationships that we have established with Vancouver School Board, BCIT, The Surrey School Board and the Native Education College.

The year ahead will be exciting as we gain ground on our path. We will continue to support our partnership with ACCESS. Their education and employment programs remain a priority as we expand our scholarship program and strengthen our work in the community.

We thank you for your support and ask you to join us in building the strength and success of the urban Aboriginal community.
